Horsemanship For The Mounted Shooter by Colt Fire Arms

Horsemanship For The Mounted Shooter
Colt Fire Arms

Mounted shooting is an exciting new equestrian sport that combines some of the highest quality of horsemanship along with gun handling and target shooting. Competitors race through various patterns of barrels and poles within an arena while firing .45 caliber pistols loaded with black powder blanks at balloon targets. Scoring is based on elapsed time plus a five second penalty for each target missed or barrel knocked over. An average course of fire normally takes a contestant between 10 and 30 seconds to complete.

In this video sponsored by Colt Fire Arms, World Champions Jim Hanson and Andra Olson will show you how to get starting in the excited sport of Mounted Shooting.

They explain how to prepare your horse, your equipment and yourself for competition.
