Schooling a Horse Part 1 - Lungeing and Breaking In
Rudolf Zeilinger

The first part of this series of films is showing the first steps of lungeing and riding of young horses, considering always their level of training. It covers the first seven weeks of the training of two rising four-year-old horses from the day they arrive at Rudolf's yard. The work centers on the first 3 elements of the training scale: rhythm, suppleness, and contact. It is astonishing to see how fast the young horses do develop confidence and do relax - a logical consequence of the calm but consistent work of Zeilinger.

Rudolf Zeilinger, long year's pupil of Willi Schultheis and instructor of olympic and world championship horses, is known for his sensible and sensitive way of schooling dressage horses. Again and again, his horses are fascinating because of their easiness, relaxedness and their naturalness he knows to preserve.
